About

A stay-at-home humorist, Ann Imig started blogging in 2008 to quiet the horrendous children's music in her head, and has inflicted herself upon your internet ever since.

In 2012 Babble included Ann's blog as one of their Top 100 Mom Blogs after naming Ann
(@annsrants) the funniest 2011 Top 50 Twitter Mom. BlogHer honored her as a Voice of the Year from 2010-2012, and SheKnows.com named her blog one of their Top 5 Funniest Mom Blogs in 2011. Most important, her children recently named her THE MOST ANNOYING BOSS OF EVERYTHING.

In 2010 she founded Listen To Your Mother, spawning the live-reading series now giving Mother's Day a microphone in cities nationwide (and appearing on The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Huffington Post).

Ann's writing appears online (McSweeney's Internet Tendency, College Humor, Errant Parent, Aiming Low, FunnyNotSlutty, etc.) and in print for Brava Magazine. She's been featured locally (Brava Magazine, The Isthmus, Madison Magazine, The Wisconsin State Journal, Wisconsin Public Radio's Veronica Ruekert Show) as well as in Hulu.com's acclaimed comedy Battleground.

Ann speaks on air, at conferences (BlogHer, Blissdom, Creative Alliance), and often loudly to her two boys.

Before dedicating her life to her children and The People of The Internet, Ann received her BA in Theater from UW Madison, pretended on stages, sold :30 second TV air, and earned a Masters in Social Work from the U of Chicago.

The importance of bearing witness and giving voice to personal narrative inspires not only Ann’s work with LTYM, but also with Violence Unsilenced.com board of directors.

The Imigs reside and play far too much Pokemon Monopoly in Madison, Wisconsin.
